Immersive Visualisation Suite, Babbage Building

The Immersive Visualisation Suite is a cutting-edge facility for research, teaching, and commercial activities. It provides an advanced platform for data analysis and visualisation, serving users from across the University as well as the wider industrial sector.
Equipped with a hybrid, virtual reality-enabled visualisation system, the suite offers powerful tools like ParaView software to enhance data interaction. Three large high-definition display panels allow for the simultaneous viewing of both 2D and 3D data, while small groups can engage with the data in a dynamic extended reality environment for an immersive, interactive experience.
Integrated with other campus facilities, this lab acts as a hub for real-time data exchange, facilitating collaborative research and advancing technological development across multiple sectors, including emerging fields like floating offshore wind.
